Nigeria’s bad boy entertainer, Wande Coal, has done it again. The singer has signed a management and PR deal with renowned outfit Upfront and Personal Bookings and Management Agency with the hope of spreading his reach into a bigger audience base starting with Nigeria, as well as enjoying corporate sponsorship, among other things . . .
Wande Coal formerly did business with Bankulli Entertainment but that partnership fell apart over irreconcilable reasons. Reports and insiders scoops cite the singer’s attitude problems as one of the major reasons both parties fell out. Several efforts to get them back together proved abortive.
The singer joined forces with Bankulli Entertainment after his exit from Don Jazzy’s Mavin Records in 2013 after which he set up his music label Black Diamond Entertainment.
This is not the first split or spat between the singer and his manager. He also ended his business relationship with Nana Abbey in 2013. Wande Coal’s ‘Wanted’ album dropped in 2015 and met mixed reviews for obvious reasons.
Some music and entertainment pundits opine that since Wande Coal left the godfather of naija music, Don Jazzy, he is yet to carve out a fitting music genre cliché for himself.
Whether that contention is true or not is left to conjecture.
