In “The Tribunal”, “Jimi Disu, a middle-aged man is a smart and intelligent Nigerian lawyer who had co-established a successful law firm in Lagos. However, Disu is confronted by some challenges both in his official and private life – challenges he couldn’t fathom out their solution(s). The brilliant attorney starts to unravel as his mastery of legalese and advocacy slip into legal and judicial oblivion.
He becomes a ‘charge and bail’ lawyer (a derogatory term for never-do-well and struggling lawyers) with no further ambition. Approached by a young Nigerian Law School graduate, just called to the Nigerian bar, Tanimowo (who adores his legal pedigree), to defend her friend, an albino, who has been unfairly relieved of his duties at work, Jimi Disu is presented a chance to battle his old law firm – and the movie assumes a different trajectory – a must watch for moviegoers in Nigeria.
